Wasserbillig, Dezcember 8th, 2010. On the occasion of World AIDS Day, “berlinpositiv e.V” and pjur group, the internationally renowned manufacturer of health and body care products, unveiled the memorial “Against Forgetting” in Berlin-Schöneberg. The stele shaped monument with the symbolic red ribbon reminds people of the fact that HIV still exists, and is not restricted to sexuality, religion, or ethnic background – anybody can be infected. “We want to help people remember that the risk of HIV infection is real. And we want to call on everybody to fight this virus – by having safe sex and treating those who are infected with respect”, said Alexander Giebel, CEO of pjur group.

The event was hosted by Roger Kilian, the chairman of “berlinpositiv e.V.”. Together with the winners of the “Prix de courage” – a prize presented by “berlinpositiv e.V.” to people who have distinguished themselves in fight HIV –, Kilian emphasised that information and knowledge are the most important tools in this fight. The 250 guests who attended the event then remembered all those who had lost the struggle against AIDS and other communicable diseases. After the unveiling of the stele, artists, politicians and other interested parties gathered at the hotel Axel.
